ATHOL—The Athol junior varsity softball team used a balanced approach at the plate and good base running to defeat Mohawk Trail Regional High School 27-5 on Friday.
Kennedy Valincourt, Reily Polana, Kristinna Sigurdsson and Sam Kenniff all provided hits for Athol. Kenniff also threw out multiple runners from behind the plate.
Polana earned her first win on the mound for the Red Raiders. She gave up four hits and four walks while striking out two.
