SCARBOROUGH, ME — Jeanne Marie Ryan passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine after a short illness.
Jeanne was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on August 26, 1947, the daughter of Alfred and Carmen (Roy) Richards. She graduated from North High School in Worcester. Jeanne worked in banking in Worcester, Athol and Northampton (Massachusetts).
She enjoyed traveling to Ireland and England and visiting the coastal communities in Downeast and Southern Maine. Jeanne loved gardening, her grandchildren and her dog Buddy.
She leaves behind her husband Noel Ryan of Scarborough, Maine; her son Timothy and his wife Vicki, of Matthews, North Carolina; her sisters Helen Morrison of Williamsburg, Virginia and Elli Gonyea of Chandler, Arizona. In addition, she is survived by her son-in-law Todd Shaw and by her grandchildren Connor, Michaela and Brendan Shaw of Brunswick, Maine. Jeanne was predeceased by her daughter Colleen Ryan Shaw, who passed on July 21, 2017.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough, Maine on May 31st from noon to 2pm, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2pm. The family will receive friends following the service.
