CHIPLEY, Fla — Susan Lynn (Woodbury) Parsons of Chipley, Florida, formerly of Orange and Gardner, MA, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018, after a long illness. Susan was born July 17, 1949, the middle child of Morton C. and Anne N. (Durant) Woodbury who both predeceased her. She always felt like being the middle child was a disadvantage, but she was a happy, beautiful redheaded child, adored by everyone.
She was the beloved wife of Ronald W. Parsons of Chipley, FL to whom she was married for 27 years. She leaves her son William A. Richards and his wife Marlena of Elba, Alabama and her daughter Alicia A. Cross and her partner Cedric Speights of Chipley, FL. Sue loved her whole family but especially her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of Florida. She leaves her sisters Sharon Doucette, Sandra Eklund and her husband Clint, and Denise Noel and her husband Richard all of Orange, MA as well as one brother, Larry Woodbury of Lake Placid, FL. A large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews will miss her laugh.
Sue attended schools in Orange, MA and graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional School with the Class of 1967. Sue loved playing Bingo, reading books, watching television, and horses. She enjoyed writing poetry, even writing an inspiring ode to her daughter Alicia when she was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease at a very young age. She was always ready with a joke or a funny story. She had an excellent memory and could recite anecdotes from her childhood in great detail. She never met a person she didn’t like and was always the life of the party, especially the Naughty Nightie parties she loved to host when she lived in Gardner, MA prior to moving to Florida.
