ATHOL — North Quabbin area seniors are invited to enjoy a day in New Hampshire’s White Mountains on Monday, Aug. 20, sponsored by the Athol Golden Age Club. The coach will arrive at the Athol Senior Center, 82 Freedom St., Lord Pond Plaza, at 6:45 a.m., depart at 7 a.m. and return to Athol by 6 p.m. This is a rain or shine event.
The coach will travel via I-91 to Meredith, Lake Winnipesaukee, and Mt. Chocorua on the way to North Conway. After lunch, guests will spend a delightful hour in Zeb’s Famous Country Store which offers 5,000 New England-made gifts and items. Then the group will take a scenic tour of Mt. Washington Valley, the town of Glen, and Mt. Attitash Ski Area, before taking Bear Notch Road up to the famous Kancamagus Highway for views of other White Mountains on the way to Lincoln for the return trip home.
The cost includes the driver’s gratuity and a delicious luncheon of either chicken Piccata or marinated beef tips at the White Mountain Hotel and Resort located in North Conway below Cathedral and Whitehorse ledges.

Refunds for one-day trips will be given only if the tour is sold out three weeks in advance of departure date and the ticket can be resold by the person who purchased it or to someone on the waitlist.
