ATHOL — Losing 13-2 to North Leominster in its latest game was not ideal for the Chuck Stone Little League. As the team attempts to make a bid to win District 3 in the pursuit of the Little League World Series, the loss pushes Chuck Stone into third place within the district.
The top four teams will qualify for a double-elimination tournament to decide the winner of District 3. As it stands, Chuck Stone would qualify for the tournament, but with three games left in group play, including games against Leominster National (2-0) and Quabbin (1-1), nothing is certain.
