PETERSHAM — No. 2 Quabbin Little League defeated No. 3 North Leominster 2-1 on Tuesday night to advance to the championship game within District 3’s single elimination tournament to determine the district’s representative in the pursuit of the Little League World Series.
Quabbin will face No. 1 Leominster National on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Winchendon Little League field hosted at the American Legion in Winchendon. Leominster National defeated No. 4 Leominster American 9-3 on Tuesday night to advance.
It is the first time in five years Quabbin has reached the championship game. The team has never won a district title.
