ATHOL — The Chuck Stone Jimmy Fund Sinclair team opened up its home schedule at the mercy of a hard-hitting Winchendon team, losing 20-7 on Saturday at James H. Salevan Field.
Winchendon used 12 hits and eight walks to defeat Chuck Stone. Winchendon smacked one home run and one triple during the game.
Winchendon has scored 34 runs in two games, improving to 2-0 with the win. Chuck Stone fell to 1-1 with the loss.
Winchendon got off to a strong start, going up 3-0 in the first inning. They never looked back, scoring runs in each inning but the fifth, including five runs in the fourth and sixth innings.
Chuck Stone couldn’t muster anything more than four singles. Branden Engelke-Aiken went 1-for-1 at the plate with two walks and one run. Aiden Barilone went 1-for-1 with two runs.
Chuck Stone will face North Leominster on Tuesday at Desantis Field in Leominster at 5:30 p.m.
