Ben Kearney and Tavaris Atwood each scored two goals for the Athol boys middle school soccer team in a 5-1 win over Murdock, Friday.
Jameson Vincent also scored for the Red Raiders.
Joshua Stevens and Kyle O’Connell led the defense for Athol.
Five youth soccer teams participated in the Pepperell Fall Classic this weekend.
The boys third and fourth grade A team went 0-1-2 in their matches, while the B team went 3-0-1.
The boys fifth-sixth grade team went 2-1 on Sunday to advance to Monday, when it lost to Littleton, 2-0, in the semifinals.
The girls fifth-sixth team went 3-0, but lost their elimination game 3-1 to Pepperell United.
The seventh-eighth grade girls team went 0-3.
During the season, the third-fourth grade A team beat Littleton 4-1. Luke Conners had a goal and two assists, with Ben Sonnabend adding a goal.
In a 4-3 win over Leominster, Sonnabend had a goal and the game-winning penalty kick while Conners also scored twice. Matthew Pilling had two assists.
Conners added another two goals in a 4-3 win over Bolton. Lucas E’Ecuyer and Sonnabend also scored with Hunter Brooks adding two assists.
Drake Wing has played well in net all season.
Also during the season, the third-fourth B team got a 3-1 win over Harvard with Troy Pearson assisting on two goals. Sawyer Lacoy, Jacob Sullivan and Trey Blake were the goal scorers.
Blake scored the first goal in a 2-1 win over Littleton. Max Kimball scored the other goal.
The boys fifth-sixth grade team lost to Tyngsboro 6-1 with Ethan Heuer scoring the lone goal.
The boys seventh-eighth grade team lost to Groton Dunstable 4-1 with Tavaris Atwood scoring the goal.
Ethan Bacigalupo and Antonio Carbone each scored in a 6-2 loss to Townsend-Ashby.
