ORANGE — On Saturday, Oct. 13, the Orange Innovation Center will host its first Fall Fest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located at 318 West Main St., companies housed in the OIC as well as more than 20 North Quabbin area businesses plan to participate.
Adam Suzor and Sheryl Hendricks of Modo (Modern Office) are organizing and coordinating the events of the Fest. In an effort to involve the community and let them know about the OIC businesses, a family scavenger hunt will facilitate as a tour of the center. The day is to also show appreciation to the businesses and community for their support.
Geared toward family, there will be face painting and kids games. As a fundraiser, the 202 Street Hockey Association will sell food. Local musicians will entertain throughout the day.
The Fall Fest timeline is as follows:
11 a.m. — Welcome to Fall Fest, followed by the National Anthem;
11:10 a.m. — Music by Todd Perry;
11:30 a.m. — Treasure Dig for children ages 5 and under;
Noon — Music by Ray and Jymyle Hendricks; Hula Hoop Contest Ages 13 and up;
12:30 p.m. — Treasure Dig for children ages 6-2;
1 p.m. — Pie Eating Contest for ages 12 and under;
1:30 p.m. — Music by The Can Collectors; Treasure Dig for ages 11-15;
2 p.m. — Hula Hoop Contest for ages 13 and up;
3 p.m. — Pie Eating Contest for ages 13 and up;
3:30 p.m. — Winners will be announced for door prize, lobster raffle, and chair massage.
All day: pick-a-pop. candy corn in a row, bounce house, guessing game, family scavenger hunt, lobster raffle, photo booth, creation station, face painting, balloon artist, temporary tattoos.

About the Fall Fest organizer
Suzor, a lifelong resident of Orange, explained that the purpose of “Modo” is to introduce the digital world to area small businesses. Students graduating from high school and college have skill sets to handle the digital world in which we live. Few businesses are cash only, with most people now carrying debit or credit cards. Suzor hopes to bring more businesses into this electronic environment. Classes are being offered to transition small business. Outfitted with a fiber optic internet, four workstations with adjustable sit/stand desks have been set up in the quiet room. Small conference rooms are also available for use.
Keeping in mind that many now are living a sedentary lifestyle, the “modo” area is adjacent to the gym. There is no receptionist, instead, members use a screen to log in on and pertinent information is available at a touch. The gym is equipped with cardio and weight training equipment. Classes are also conducted. Monday: 6-6:45 a.m. Morning Spin; 7:30-8 a.m. Booty Buster; 9-9:30 a.m. Beginner Spin; 6:30-7 p.m. Power Fit; Tuesday: 8-8:30 a.m. Boot Camp; 10-11 a.m. Forever Fit; 5:30-6:30 p.m. Cardio Resistance; 6:30-7:30 p.m. Evening Spin; Friday: 8-9 a.m. Morning Stretch; 9-9:30 a.m. Beginner Spin, 6-7 p.m. Heels Class; Saturday: 8-9 a.m. Boot Camp; Sunday: 6-7 p.m. Yoga.
