LADY LAKE, Fla. — Mary Susan (Young) Alford, 61 of Lady Lake, FL and formerly of Athol, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA.
Susan was born on December 19, 1956, the daughter of the late James S. “Stogie” Young and the late Marie Eva (Chiasson) Young. She grew up in Athol and graduated with the Athol High School Class of 1975.
She was a member of the American Legion for 20 plus years. She enjoyed snow skiing, archery, playing pool, spending time with her family and friends and being with her dogs.
Susan is survived by her husband of 15 years David A. Alford of Lady Lake, FL; two sisters Sally Young of CA; Patti Young of Athol; her dog Louie; one niece Lynn Beasley; two great nieces Graci and Coral; one aunt Phyllis Landry; and cousins Kevin, Kathy, Jack, Linda and Terry.
Besides her parents, Susan was predeceased by her nephew Craig Beasley and her dog Max.
A gathering of family and friends to remember Susan will take place on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at her parents’ graveside in Silver Lake Cemetery off of Horrigan Ave, Athol.
