PETERSHAM — Blues musician Barret Anderson returns to the Petersham bandstand at the Friday Market, Oct. 12.
Anderson is a resident of Petersham and won the 2013 Blues Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards. Petersham native Jamie Hatch joins Anderson on bass, along with local drummer Doug McLeod.
Market Coordinator Roy Nilson said Anderson is the third Boston Music Award winner to perform at the market.
The 2018 Friday Market season began back in June and is winding down. The market allows residents access to fresh locally grown food, crafts and resources from local health care and social service groups. Each week the market also provides live music on the town common.
Shoppers interested in supporting the market’s music program can purchase a reusable “Get Fresh on the Common” bag. Though the market’s selection varies each week, individuals can find a variety of local produce, eggs, baked good and more.
The Petersham Cultural Council, Town Meeting voters, individual donors, the Petersham Grange 95 and more support the Friday Market.
