TURNERS FALLS — The Great Falls Word Festival presented by Human Error Publishing will take place Nov. 8-11 at The Shea Theater Arts Center, 71 Avenue A.

Named the Beat Poet Laureate of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Human Error Publishing’s founder Paul Richmond has earned a reputation for producing innovative and inclusive spoken word events. Now celebrating nine years in Franklin County, The Great Falls Word Festival will come to the Shea Theater Arts Center for a four day, community centered, genre crossing, boundary bending, diverse and inclusive celebration of spoken word.

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, November 8

6:45-8:15 p.m.: THE MOLE — five minutes true (or not so true) stories told without scripts or props.

8:30-10 p.m.: Do it Now with Jo Sallins, Tony Vacca, John Sheldon, Paul Richmond

Friday, November 9

Downstairs at The Shea

6:45 p.m.: Voices From Inside – prison women’s writing group

7:45 p.m.: Slate Roof Press

Main Stage at The Shea

6:45-8:15 p.m.: Exploded View Performance: Deadlines

8:30-11 p.m.: International Poets — David C Johnson (Bristol, UK.), Roger West (Soubès, FR), Kate Rex (Soubès, FR).

Sunday, November 11

1-5 p.m.: Veteran’s Day- “The Long Way Home”

In  respect to those who have served or loved someone who has served, the theme of the today’s readings is “The Long Way Home.” Many veterans never find their way back. And others can relate to never being able to go home again.

Shows are $5-$10 or buy the four day festival are $15-$20 online and at the Shea Theater during the Festival.
