Friday, Nov. 16

Story Boards are set up through the Millers River Park for people of all ages to read. During inclement weather, the board are set up through the Athol Public Library. A craft that goes with the walk is set up in the Children’s Library for children. No registration required.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Job Expo, at Greenfield Community College, Cohn Family diving Common, 1 College Drive, Greenfield.

3:30-5:30 p.m. — Teen Movie: Ant-Man and the Wasp, rated PG-13, for teens age 13 to 20. In the Large program room at Athol Public Library, 568 Main St. Snacks served. Students age 12 may attend with written permission from parent or guardian. Into 978-249-9515.

6-9 p.m. — Minifest of music, Old Center Church, 10 Old Center, Winchendon. With Sweet Euphoria and Brian Dickens, singer/songwriter, and other local musicians to open the show with short sets. Concert benefits the Winchendon History and Cultural Center.

7:30 p.m. — Pioneer Valley Cappella presents “The Ways of Zion Do Mourn” by George Frideric Handel. Music director Geoffrey Hudson will joined by a chamber orchestra of oboes and strings. At Grace Episcopal Church in Amherst, and on Nov. 17, 7:30 p.m. at Edwards Church, Northampton.

 

 

Saturday, Nov. 17

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Holiday Bazaar, Athol Congregational Church, uptown common,  Athol. Baked goods, crafts, jewelry, center table, theme baskets, food.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Holiday Fair at St. Paul’s Church, 79 Cross St., Gardner. Free photos with Santa 9-11. Collecting donations of shelf stable items (canned goods, rice, pasta, spices) for local food pantries.

9 .am. To 1 p.m. — Holiday Fair, First Universalist Church, 31 North Main St., Orange. Center table, crafts, jewelry, food. Cheese and apple pie, luncheon 11 a.m.-1p.m..

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Holy Cross Parish Fair, 25 Lake Ave., Templeton. Santa visiting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Information: 978-632-2121.

11 a.m. to noon — Family Saturdays at Skyfields Arboretum, 1461 Old Keene Rd., Athol. Educational family program for children ages 4-8. Habitats and Hibernation Nature Walk and games. Dress for outdoor fun. Info: Jess Tierney, 978-248-2055.

7 p.m. — Turkey Raffle at RCee’s Pub, 22 South Main St., Orange. All proceeds to benefit the Orange Santa Fund.

7 p.m. — Turkey raffle, Tully CCC, Inc., 365 Tully Rd., Orange. Refreshments.

7:30 p.m. — “If Music be the Food of Love,” produced by Warwick resident Cheri Robartes, will be shown at Warwick Town Hall, 12 Athol Rd. This PG-13 comedy is about a single mother who’s looking to fit a part-time boyfriend into her hectic life.

Sunday November 18

3 p.m. — Interfaith Thanksgiving Worship Service, First Congregational Parish Unitarian, on the Common, Petersham. Annual gathering to celebrate with other Petersham churches. All welcome. Fellowship and light refreshments follow service.
