The Athol indoor track and field teams got wins over Baystate Academy Friday at Smith College in Northampton.
The Athol boys won 74-16, with Mason Barrieau qualifying for the Division 5 state meet in the long jump (19 feet, ¼ inch).
“This is just Mason doing Mason things,” Athol coach David St. Jean said. “My goal this year is to move him around and keep him fresh.”
Barrieau also had qualifying marks for PVIACs in the 600 meter (1 minute, 29.23 seconds) and the 55-hurdles (8.79).
Dennis St. Jean took home two first-place finishes in distance events: the 1,000 (2:56.84) and the mile (5:08.36).
Zachary Fish won the 2-mile (12:47.19).
Parker Deleo impressed in the high jump, getting a first-place finish (4-9).
Colby Hume stepped into the shot put event and placed first (27-6).
The 4×200 relay team of Cullen Burbee, Anthony Marcucci, Colby Soltysik and Deleo took home first (1:49.59) as well for the Red Raiders.
The Athol girls team beat Baystate 65-13.
Shelby Mailloux placed first in the 55-hurdles (11.49). Grace Dufour was first in the 600 (2:00.65).
Mailloux got another win in the high jump (3-11).
Newcomer Kassidy Swan was first in both the 1,000 (3:52.94) and the mile (6:33.37).
Freshman Sadey Lehtomaki won the long jump (10-9). Analyse Merlini placed first in the shot put (22-3).
The 4×200 relay team of Emily England, Lehtomaki, Dufour and Mailloux placed first (2:06.85) as well.
