Carra Fitzgerald, Caroline Chase, Jordyn Berry, Kamryn Reilly  and  Chloe Taddeo all qualified for PVIACs with their performances for the Mahar girls indoor track team on Friday at Smith College in Northampton.

Fitzgerald continued her ascension in the school record books in the 2-mile run with a second place (12:38.08) finish.

Fitzgerald’s time broke her own school record from the previous week.

Taddeo qualified in the shot put and was first overall with a throw of 28 feet, 1 inch for the Senators (3-3, 1-3 Valley North).

Chase was first (1:50.59) in the 600-meter run for Mahar.

Kamryn Reilly  qualified in the high jump (1st place, 4-08.00) along with Berry who had the same result in the event.

Reilly’s 1st place (15-2) performance in the long jump allowed her to qualify as well. 

 The Sentators scores for the nigh were as follows: Mahar beat Mohawk 53-41, beat Commerce 47-19, and lost to Southwick 48-47. 

Reilly ran a blazing 55-meter dash for the Senators, placing first (7.96.6) against Mohawk, Southwick and Commerce, and third overall among several Division 1 schools.

Anna Wetherbee (48.36) and Reilly (49.09) were second and third respectively in the 300.

Emma Savoy helped the Senators overall point total with a second place finish (3:38.05) in the 1000, missing Mohawk’s top finisher by a couple seconds.

The Mahar boys indoor track team picked up its first win of the season against Commerce, 48-40. 

The Senators (1-4, 0-4 Valley North) lost against Southwick 52-35 and Mohawk 49-41.

Liam O’Donnell notched two second place finishes for Mahar: in the 1-mile run (5:22.98) and the 2-mile (11:22.59).
