The Athol Middle School girls basketball team beat Narragansett, 22-14, on the second night of a back-to-back at home on Thursday.
Jenna Bonenfant scored 10 points with four rebounds. Brooke Hopkins added four points with five rebounds for the Red Raiders (3-1).
Sammy Mailloux led the defense with three steals and added four points.
Athol 20, Pioneer Regional 3 — The Red Raiders beat the Panthers at home behind eight points and four rebounds from Bonenfant on Wednesday.
Anna Duquette had four points with three rebounds for Athol.
Kylah Blundon made five steals for the Red Raiders.
Mahar 41, Quabbin 14 —
The Senators girls basketball team ran into one of the better teams in the region, Wednesday in Orange.
The Panthers feature Shayne Burton, who is considering prep basketball in high school. Burton had six points in limited minutes.
The Senators had trouble with Quabbin’s press from the start, and in the second half there was a window for a comeback but the shots didn’t fall.
Cassidy Boutell led Mahar with four points.
Brooklyn Kennedy, Alexis Packard, Alivia Patch, Kendrah Doane and Sophia Woods each had a bucket for the Senators.
Athol 54, Narragansett 17 — Aedan Erickson found the net consistently with 22 points in a road win for the Red Raiders boys basketball team on Thursday.
Conall Tontodonato scored eight with Angel Castillo chipping in with seven points.
Athol 54, Pioneer 14 — The Red Raiders team used team defense to secure a win at home against the Panthers on Wednesday.
Tony Carbone scored eight points, with Castillo adding seven.
Jacob Knowles and Tontodonato scored six points each.
Mahar 28, Quabbin 24 — The Senators boys basketball team did it with defense in a home win over the Panthers on Thursday.
Connor Sluder scored 12 points, with Gavin Sullivan adding nine.
Mahar 41, Frontier 40 — Ava Liberty hit two clutch free throws late in the game to help the Senators girls team beat the Red Hawks on Tuesday.
Liberty finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Abby Henne led Mahar with 17 points.
Sienna Moore and four points and 10 rebounds.
Athol 52, Hampshire Regional 42 — Connor Mahony and Christan Casillas scored 12 points each for the Red Raiders boys team in a home win on Thursday.
Athol scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Raiders.
