The Athol boys middle school basketball team used a team effort to deny Greenfield’s late comeback attempt, 51-47, at home Tuesday.
Conall Tontodonato scored nine of his 17 points down the stretch to lead the way for the Red Raiders.
Tontodonato also had a late steal.
Aedan Erickson, Lucas Saisa, Jacob Knowles, Caleb LeBlanc, Tony Carbone and Colby Goodwin also chipped in with late second-half points.
Erickson finished with 10 points for Athol.
Point guard Angel Castillo’s ballhandling helped break Greenfield’s press when the Green Wave needed turnovers late in the game.
Castillo scored nine points, all in the first half.
The Red Raiders built a 27-17 halftime lead with an 11-0 run to end the half.
Athol 50, Narragansett 24 — Balanced scoring carried the Red Raiders in a home win on Monday.
Tontodonato, Erickson, Castillo and Knowles had eight points each.
Athol 54, Hopkins Academy 43 — The Red Raiders maintained and increased a seven-point halftime lead in a win over the Golden Hawks on the road on Friday.
Erickson (13 points) and Tontodonato (10) were both in double figures for Athol.
Mahar 48, Greenfield 26 — Team defense helped the Senators get a road win against the Green Wave on Thursday.
The halftime score was 32-6. Gavin Sullivan exploded for 25 points for Mahar.
Connor Sluder chipped in with seven points.
Mahar 34, Hopkins Academy 18 — Kendrah Doane registered a triple-double in a home win for the Senators over the Golden Hawks on Tuesday.
Doane had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Alivia Patch scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Mahar (11-1).
Mahar 28, Greenfield 9 — The Senators picked up their 10th win against the Green Wave on the road on Monday.
Patch scored 14 points with 11 rebounds and five assists for Mahar.
Cassidy Boutell led the defense with five steals and added six points.
Greenfield 35, Athol 26 — A late comeback attempt fell short for the Red Raiders in a home loss to the Green Wave on Tuesday.
Abby Lutz scored eight points for the Red Raiders, all in the second half.
Jenna Bonenfant added six points for Athol (8-8).
Athol 25, Narragansett 12 — A tough press helped keep the Warriors scoreless in the second half in a win for the Red Raiders on Monday.
Hopkins Academy 12, Athol 11 — Offensive struggles, foul trouble and some injuries hampered the Red Raiders in a road loss on Thursday.
Sammy Mailloux led Athol with six points.
Athol 45, Hopkins Academy 43 — Christian Casillas scored seven of his 13 points in the fourth quarter in a road win for the Red Raiders on Friday.
Dilan Fountain and Manny O’Lari had scored eight points each for Athol.
Mahar 47, Frontier 23 — Sienna Moore and Abby Henne had 11 points each as the Senators cruised past the Red Hawks at home on Monday.
Haylee Allen added seven points for the Senators.
Ava Liberty grabbed 10 rebounds.
Mahar 45, Easthampton 21 — Makayla Mathurin’s 14 points and nine rebounds gave the Senators a home win on Thursday.
Abby Henne scored 12 points and Liberty helped on the glass with 12 rebounds.
Natalie Belloli’s paced the defense with 11 steals.
