ATHOL — Hungry visitors to the North Quabbin Commons will soon be able to satisfy their cravings for Mexican food when Taco Bell opens soon. Initially no provisions had been made for electrical power to the restaurant which caused a delay in the opening. According to James Meehan, chairman of the Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC), National Grid will be setting up a pole on Saturday and the electrical work should be done early next week. A grand opening date has not yet been set but it is in the planning stages, Meehan said.

The property is owned by North Carolina-based developer Athol Development LLC, which also oversees Wendy’s (located directly across the road) and a 26,000 square foot building currently under construction to house Dollar Tree, AT&T and the Tea House Restaurant.
