ORANGE — The ball dropped on the dek hockey season at 202 Sports Complex on April 19 with three games in the Beaver/Cadet division.
In the season opener Athol Savings defeated Hopkins Masonry, 7-2.
Kam Elliotte led the bankers with six goals, with Lily Fahey adding another.
For Hopkins Masonry Ethyn Clayton found the net twice.
Brad Matthews Landscaping beat Orange Oil, 6-4, behind four goals by Cody Bridgewood.
Fahey, playing as a substitute, scored a goal for Brad Matthews on a breakaway to give the landscapers a 5-3 lead.
Connor Mahony’s snipe for Orange Oil cut the lead to 5-4 late in the third but Derek Plummer’s second assist of the game set up Bridgewood to close the scoring for both teams.
In the nightcap Athol Credit Union defeated Hagelberg Trucking, 8-3.
Logan Hume, Cordelia Rhodes and Dylan Roy all found the net twice for the creditors.
Loki Rhodes and Elijah Richards also scored.
For the Truckers, Evan Dubrule scored twice with Alexander Spagnola adding another.
Athol Savings 5, Orange Oil 4 – Elliotte (three goals) and Fahey (two goals) led the Bankers in a win on April 20.
Mahony had a hat trick for Orange Oil.
Hopkins Masonry 4, Hagelberg 3 – Hopkins edged Hagelberg in the win on April 20.
Camden Hopkins had two goals, with Ethyn Clayton adding another.
Emmery Dubrule led Hagelberg with two goals.
Athol Credit Union 6, Brad Matthews’ Landscaping 3 – The creditors got two goals each from Ben Kearney and Elijah Richards in a win over the landscapers on April 20.
Cody Bridgewood, Derek Plummer and Caleb Sexton each scored once for the landscapers.
R&S Automotive 3, Mallet Rubbish & Recycling 2 – Wes Miller paced R&S Automotive with two goals in a close win on April 20.
Zach Boudreau and Gavin Warren scored for Mallet.
North Central Mass Trash 5, Hometown Bank 4 – Lucas Hart’s two goals led North Central Mass Trash to a close win on April 20.
Catarina Chapman, Robert Farrow and Cameron Gould also scored.
For the bankers, Brody Shaw scored twice with Ryder Ducharme and Aiden Desreuisseau also scoring.
Red Apple Farm 5, Athol Police 0 – Cody Preisch had a hat trick in a win for the apples on April 20, with Preston D’Amato and Mason Monte each adding another goal.
