Greenfield Rec League

The start date for the Greenfield Adult Recreation Tennis League is being pushed back one week due to the delay in the clay courts being ready for play. The league will now begin play May 26 and the deadline to register will be May 19.

The league is run through the aegis of the Greenfield Rec. Dept. This is a singles league, open to all players, ages 16 to adult. You play one match per week on the clay courts in Greenfield. The matches are best of three sets, and players set up a time to play that fits both of their schedules. The cost is $25 for Greenfield residents and $35 for non-residents.

There will be a league mixer on the last day of registration, May 19, 5:30-7 p.m., at the Beacon Courts for anyone interested in playing. If the Beacon Courts are still not ready for play on May 19, the mixer will be moved to the Davis St. Courts. In previous years, there have been enough players to form as many as three leagues, grouped according to skill levels.

You can register by printing the registration form (http://www.greenfieldrecreation.com/pdfs/regform.pdf), filling it out and enclosing it with the appropriate fee (Checks should be made payable to the Town of Greenfield) and mailing it to: Andrew Varnon, 108 Maple St., Greenfield, MA 01301.

For more information, contact Andrew Varnon at avarnon@yahoo.com or (413) 774-5639.
