Paul Bassett shot a quota of plus-6, defeating Ray Godin by one stroke to take first in the Knights of Columbus League at the Thomas Memorial Golf Course, Wednesday.
Winston Labelle and Joe Kapitulik tied for third with a plus-4.
Stephan Smith and Ken Adams each won closest to the pin, Smith on No. 7 and Adams on No. 9.
Kevin Brown won skins on No.1 while Rod Herzig won skins on No. 6.
In the Thomas Memorial Women’s League, Susan McMahon had the top point quota with a plus-13.
Sue Maillour was second with a plus-12 and Janet Twyon was third with a plus-10.
Marilyn Kostanski won closest to the pin on No. 7 (nine feet, four inches) and Deb Puchalski won was the winner of closest to the brook.
CFC
Lisa Sullivan’s plus-3 point quota earned her a first place finish in the CFC Women’s League at the Crumpin-Fox Club, Wednesday.
Liz Dolby, Pam Poissant and Maggie Haigis all tied for second with a 1-under quota.
Dolby was the winner of closest to the pin on No. 3 (15 feet).
Edge Hill
Phil Sherburne shot the top point quota of plus-4 in the A-Division of the Edge Hill Men’s League at the Edge Hill Golf Coure, Tuesday.
Lewis Goodnow had the low gross (37) while Sherburne also had the low net of 33.
Ronnie Parker won closest to the pin on No. 16 (seven feet, five inches).
In the B-Division, Jon Sonntag had the top point quota of plus-6, as well as having the low net score of 31.
Charlie Plesnar shot a low gross score of 39 and Junior Rivera won closest to the pin on No. 16.
Thomas Memorial
Tuesday in Matt’s Men’s League at the Thomas Memorial Golf and Country Club, Charlie McCracken had the low gross score (37) while Ed Vartanyan had the low net (28).
George Handschuh and Mark Letourneau each won closest to the pin, Handschuh on No. 7 (three feet, three inches) and Letourneau on No. 9 (five feet, seven inches).
The duos of Mike Earl and Mark Snyder and Russ Kimball and Rick Kimball each earned six points, the most on the week.
Earl and Snyder are currently in first place after the 13th week of the league.
Four Rivers
Four Rivers Charter Public School is seeking a girls varsity soccer coach for the upcoming fall season.
The school is looking for a qualified candidate who knows and understands soccer, has a positive attitude, loves to coach and loves working with teenagers.

Greenfield fall start times
Greenfield High School football begins practice Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Vet’s Field.
On Aug 22nd, the field hockey team begins practice at 9 a.m., boys soccer starts at 5:30 p.m., boys and girls gross country starts at 3 p.m. behind the high school. Girls volleyball opens practice at 9 a.m. in the gym, cheerleading will start at 3:30 p.m. on the outside basketball court of the high school, girls soccer at 5;30 and golf starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Country Club of Greenfield.

The Frontier High School football team begins conditioning practice Friday from 4-6 p.m.
Middle School Football opens on Aug. 19, with practice running from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Boys and girls cross country (grades 7-12) begin Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. behind the High School.
Boys soccer varsity and JV tryouts for grades 8-12 are Aug. 22 from 9:45 a.m. till 12 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Herlihy Park.
Boys Middle School soccer starts Aug. 22 from 12-1:30 p.m. at Herlihy Park while girls varsity and JV tryouts for grades 7-12 is Aug. 22 from 8-10 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m. at Herlihy Park.
Field hockey varsity, JV and middle school tryouts are Aug. 22 from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
Girls volleyball tryouts are Aug. 22, 1-4 p.m. for returning varsity and JV players and newcomers grades 10-12, 1-4 p.m. for seventh and eighth graders and 5-7 p.m. for newcomers grades 7-9.
Golf tryouts for grades 7-12 are Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Golf Course in Amherst.
All potential players must register on Family ID (Familyid.com) and have a medical exam, within thirteen months of the first practice date, on record with Frontier to be eligible to participate.
Please be aware that student athletes will become ineligible to participate on the exact day thirteen months from their last physical exam date.
Frontier field hockey
Frontier Youth Field Hockey is creating a field hockey team for girls in Union 38 in grades 4-6. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Frontier at 5:30 p.m. from Sep. 3 through Oct. 24.
Games are with teams from Hampden and Hampshire Counties. They will also participate in jamborees with games on the weekends from Sep. 8 through Oct. 26. The games will be refereed.
The program will supply shirts, kilts and socks. Shirts must be returned at the end of the season. They have mouth guards, sticks and shin guards available. Parents must supply spandex navy and black shorts and field hockey goggles. Lacrosse goggles are not allowed.
The cost is $100 with a $50 equipment deposit that will be returned at the end of the season.
