9:30-Noon — Story Walk sponsored by Valuing Our Children. Sign boards with pages from books on them are set up along Millers River Park for participants to read at their own pace. Afterward, participants can do a fun activity in the Children’s Library. No registration. All ages can participate.

3-6 p.m. — Petersham Friday Market provides fresh locally grown food, craft vendors, information from health care and social service groups and live music on the town common. 5 p.m. — Dinner By The River at Riverfront Park, East River Street, Orange to help raise money for the parks of Orange. Rain or shine. All ages welcome. “Lazy Bones” comprised of Terry Reed (guitar, harmonica, vocals) of Orange; Douglas Tanner (fiddle, harmonica, vocals) of Wendell; Jimmy Burgoff (upright bass) of Pelham; and Ann Reed (drums, vocals) of Orange, will entertain with old time jazz, exotica and blues. 7-9 p.m. — The Tool Town Live free concert series moves to Fish Park, near 200 Union St., Athol. The show will feature award winning “BBQ rock” band, Trailer Park. The concert is free for all ages.

2 p.m. — The Athol Bird & Nature Club’s Dave Small and Lynn Harper from the Mass Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program, will explore two programs that can help organize natural history sightings. There will be a brief indoor explanation at 100 Main St., Athol, followed by a walk to the nearby meadow. Bring a smartphone, laptop or tablet.

3 p.m. — Music by Ed Hines, at Stage on Main, 17 South Main St., Orange.
