The U.S. Postal Service issued a new version of the first class rate forever Purple Heart stamp on Oct. 2. This stamp depicts the military order badge, with a purple frame added around the edge of the design for this version.

This self-adhesive stamp will be sold in panes of 20, with Noblesville, IN as the official first day city.

On Oct. 2, the United Nations Postal Administration issued a $2.75 stamp noting the 150th anniversary of the birth of Indian anti-colonial activist Mahatma Gandhi.

The sports card and coin show normally held in Chicopee on the first Sunday of the month will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13.

The U.S. Mint will issue two new products next week. To order items from the mint, visit their website at www.usmint.gov, or call them at 1-800-USA-MINT.

On Oct. 9, the mint will begin taking orders for the 2019 National Park quarters set of circulation-quality coins from all three mints. On Oct. 11, the proof set of 2019 Innovation dollar coins will debut.

The quarters set lacks the “W” mint – marked coins, which have been distributed for circulation. Only one of the 2019 Innovation dollars has been issued so far this year.
