Tim Van Epps shot his first career hole-in-one at Crumpin-Fox Club in Bernardston on Thursday.
The shot came on the par-3 15th hole, where he used a 6-iron to make the shot from 170 yards out.
It was witnessed by Brian Gehan and Brian Cummings.
Middle School
Ethan Bacigalupo, Raymond Castine, Camden Hopkins and Ryan Romero Da Silveira all scored goals, but the Athol Royalston Middle School boys soccer team allowed four goals itself, leading to a 4-4 draw against Narragansett Middle School on Wednesday.
■ The Mahar middle school girls soccer team defeated Athol, 2-1, on Thursday.
Cassidy Boutell scored in the first half, assisted by Logan Burke.
Lily Mom-Uch scored in the second half with Boutell assisting. Kylah Blunden scored for the Red Raiders.
Alivia Patch made 12 saves for the Senators.
Mahar’s (5-1-1) season concluded, with Emma Elliott, Rachel Laythe, Ava Doody, and Hazel Emery moving on to high school next season.
Sara Simon stood tall in goal for the Mahar junior varsity girls soccer team, making 15 saves, one a direct kick in the final minute, to preserve a 2-1 win over Ware on Tuesday.
Emi Carfagna scored in the 10th minute for Mahar off an assist from Megan Parse, and Logan Burke made it 2-0 Senators in the 15th minute off an assist from Paige Gadarowski.
Julia Zani, Audrey Danielson, Taylor Soucie and Dakota Cleveland played well defensively for Mahar.
Tryouts for Turners Falls suburban boys basketball take place on Nov. 2 and 3 at the high school gymnasium.
The fifth- and sixth-grade tryouts start at noon and run for two hours. The seventh- and eighth-grade tryouts immediately follow at 2 p.m.
