This writer paid a visit to a long-established flea market in Jewett City, Conn. last Sunday. This is held in an old factory on Route 138 in that town, a couple of miles west of I-395. There were a few dozen dealers set up outside, and over a hundred set up inside of the second and third floor of the old factory.

There is free parking and admission to this flea market, with a snack bar selling food on the second floor of the factory building. Leone’s Auctions are held in another part of the building on Friday evenings. It is almost a two-hour drive from the North Quabbin region via Routes 2, I-190, I-290, and I-395.

Having visited this place a few times in the past, I was not surprised to see that most of the indoor dealers had the same selection of books, tools, trinkets, some collectibles, and a lot of household junk. The outdoor dealers seemed to have more interesting material to offer for sale, including some better collectibles and small antiques.
