Visit Sicily vicariously with library talk

ORANGE — The public is invited to visit the Moore-Leland Library in North Orange at 7 p.m. on Thursday, when Orange resident Maureen Riendeau will show slides from her recent trip to Sicily.

Riendeau, a lifelong area resident, and her husband, Paul, have traveled to Sicily three times during their many trips to Italy — first with a tour group, then with a smaller group of six family members. Riendeau’s slides will feature cities on the three sides of Sicily — Palermo in the northwest, Siracusa in the southeast and Taormina near the northeast corner. The slides will feature the island’s varied topography, a few of the many ancient ruins, the little streets in the various historic districts, some of the beautiful churches and the food.
