Do you love writing poems? Have you been looking for an opportunity to share them? The Beals Memorial Library in Winchendon is partnering with the Gardner Area League of Artists and looking for entries for the Beals Prize for Poetry, their second annual poetry contest.
The Beals Memorial Library will be accepting submissions for the competition until Tuesday, March 31. Ten finalists will be selected by a panel of award-winning poets to compete on Friday, April 24, for the chance to win up to $100 in prize money.
Submissions are limited to one per contestant and only unpublished poems will be considered. Entries can be mailed, hand-delivered, or emailed to: bealspoetryprize@gmail.com.
If mailing an entry, submit on white, letter-sized paper, typed in an easy-to-read font. Place no personal information on the side where your poem appears. On the reverse side, affix your name, address, telephone number, and email address. Notification of receipt of entry will be via email or telephone. Poems will not be returned after submission.
Entries can be mailed to: The Beals Prize for Poetry, Beals Memorial Library, 50 Pleasant St., Winchendon, MA 01475.
