Just a mere 59 years between holes-in-one.
After recording his last ace in 1961, Greenfield’s David Pond added to his total on Tuesday.
At the Country Club of Greenfield, Pond notched a hole-in-one at No. 2, measuring in at 144 yards. Witnesses were Dr. Doug Fusonie and James Vohr.
Greenfield Fall Ball
Michael Bassett spun a gem, allowing just one hit in a complete-game shutout to lift Hatfield to a 3-0 victory over Greenfield Crocker Communications on Sunday in a Fall Ball contest at Beacon Field.
Tyler Baranowski and Griffin Smiarowski had hits for Hatfield.
Tyler Podolski had the lone hit for Greenfield, a single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Podolski struck out four batters in two innings on the mound while TJ Thibeault and Ryan Pulizari also pitched well in the loss.
Greenfield opened the weekend with a 7-3 victory over Mohawk on Saturday in Buckland, as David Carey struck out five in four innings of relief to snag the victory. Brody Baird started and struck out four in three innings.
At the plate, Carey was 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs scored. Michael Pierce (hit, RBI), Nick Crocker (hit, RBI, two runs), Baird (hit), Pulizari (hit, RBI) and Jackson Campbell (RBI) all aided the offensive effort, while Campbell and Devin Dubie played well defensively.
Mohawk’s Shawn Davenport pitched well for the hosts. Tom Alber had a hit and drove in two runs, Reuben Bassett smacked a sacrifice fly, while Tyler Dubreuil and Cam Lococo each added a double.
