ACTON — Habitat for Humanity (North Central Mass.) is planning to build one new house on Old Keene Road in Athol, which will include three bedrooms and 1½ baths. The house will be owner-occupied, with a mortgage of $157,000, depending on household income.

As this is a new project, Habitat for Humanity NCM is seeking potential homeowners in need of safe, affordable shelter. You or someone you know may qualify to buy the Habitat house if the person in need faces inadequacies or insecurities in his/her current housing, or is seeking housing but faces financial hardship such as being unable to qualify for a standard mortgage despite having a steady income.

Interested local residents can learn more by attending an information meeting. Two information sessions will be held by Zoom, one on Wednesday Oct. 14, at 7 p.m., and a second on Saturday Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. Translation services will be offered upon request.
