WINCHENDON — Calling all insect enthusiasts: Would you like to learn more about the important role that bees play in the environment? Then head over to the Beals Memorial Library (50 Pleasant St.) to get the buzz about bees with local beekeeper Jody Jess.

On Thursday, July 8, at 6 p.m., Ms. Jess will be facilitating an hour-long beekeeping program on the library lawn. Participants will learn the how-to aspects of keeping bees and their pivotal role as pollinators. Ms. Jess tends bees and heritage breed Irish Kerry cows in Westminster.

Space for this event is limited and registration is required. Masks are not required, but patrons are asked to practice social distancing. In case of rain, this event will be moved to Monday, July 12, at 6 p.m.
