ORANGE — If you’ve got the money, you could own a piece of Orange and “Castle Rock” history come Friday.
The brick building at 50 South Main St., once a part of the New Home Sewing Machine Co. and most recently the site of character Molly Strand’s real estate office in the Stephen King-inspired Hulu series “Castle Rock,” is set to go up for auction at noon. The auction is being handled by Daniel P. McLaughlin & Co. in Boston, and owner Daniel P. McLaughlin will be the auctioneer.
McLaughlin said it is a foreclosure sale and the lender reached out to his company for the auction.
“We will see what happens, as always,” he said.
The successful bidder will need to pay a $10,000 non-refundable deposit in the form of a bank, cashier’s or certified check at the time and place of the sale, according to the auction listing on Daniel P. McLaughlin & Co.’s website. At the end of the auction, the winner will immediately enter into a real estate purchase contract. All properties are sold in “as is” condition.
