Mohawk Trail’s Dennis Simmons bettered his season-best time in the 2-mile at the MIAA Div. 5 Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Athletic Center in Boston on Friday. 

Simmons entered with a best qualifying time of 10 minutes, 23.05 seconds, but finished the course in 10:19.54 on Friday to earn seventh place.

Fellow Warrior Chay Mojallali took 13th in the high jump with a leap of five feet, six inches.

Frontier’s Jesse Kurkolonis placed 18th in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.37 seconds. 

Mahar’s Max Gilmore won all three events he competed in, capturing titles in the wheelchair 55-meter dash (12.52), the wheelchair 300 (58.82) and the wheelchair shot put (15 feet, 9¾ inches). 

On the girls side, Frontier’s Caroline Crocker earned eighth in the long jump with a leap of 15-9, while also posting an impressive seventh-place showing in the 55 meters (9.37 seconds).

Redhawk Josie Fosnot earned 21st in the 300 meter dash with a time of 46.06 and Claire McFarland placed 25th in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:55.72. 

The Frontier girls 4×200 team of Crocker, Fosnot, Sophia Leone and Nicole Plasse placed 10th overall with a time of 1:55.22.
