WINCHENDON — If you enjoy the gentleness of Mr. Rogers or the whimsical creativity of Jim Henson, then join the Beals Memorial Library and the Winchendon Coordinated Family Community Engagement for an entertaining, original puppet show full of great songs and funny stories that are sure to be a hit with both children and their grown-ups.
On Saturday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m., musician, puppeteer, and videographer Tom Knight, will be performing his fun, interactive puppet show, “The Library Boogie,” at the Winchendon Library. Featuring a colorful cast of characters, the show includes catchy tunes and funny stories, great for children ages 2 to 8 and their families, too. This show is free to attend.
Tom Knight is a talented musician, singer and songwriter, creating delightful music for children, including his award-winning song, “The Elephant’s Lullaby.” With a great sense of humor, a bit of whimsy and a big personality, he’s been winning the hearts of audiences far and wide, including memorable performances at the Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and the Lenny Suib Puppet Playhouse in New York.
Knight also created his own web series on YouTube, The Tom Knight Show, where he and his puppets sing and have fun together, to help children and their families cope throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. His show can also be found on his website, tomknight.com.
