BARRE — Julie Rawson, president, Quabbin Community Band, reports, “We will be starting the Quabbin Community Band season for 2022 on Monday, May 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Barre Town Hall, corner of Exchange and Mechanic streets. Note that we have changed from Tuesday nights to Monday nights this year.
“Our director, Peter Lewis, is taking a sabbatical and we are happy to engage Margaret Reidy as our conductor this summer. Margaret has been around QCB for 45 years or so and has strong attachments to our band. Lucy Colwell of West Brookfield will also be doing some guest conducting.”
Here is the rehearsal and concert schedules for the summer.
Mondays, May 9 – Aug. 8 – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Barre Town Hall
There is one exception – the July 4 rehearsal will be changed to Wednesday, July 6.
Sundays, June 19 to July 10 – Normay Park, South Barre, 6 p.m.
Sundays July 17 – Aug. 14 – Barre Center Common – 6 p.m.
Thursday, July 28: Out of town concert at Oakham Common – 6:30 pm

“The Quabbin Community Band reads and performs a significant amount of music each summer. It is ideal for the professional, semi-professional, amateur and young instrumentalist. The QCB is truly a community band in its range of ages and abilities. All are welcome.”
