ORANGE — LaunchSpace, the member-based community workshop in the Orange Innovation Center, will hold a soft opening of its gallery store during Wednesday’s Maker Mixer from 5 to 7 p.m.

At the end of 2021, LaunchSpace launched its Entrepreneur Member Program through a grant from the Massachusetts Office of Business Development in partnership with Greenfield Community College. As part of the pilot and at the request of the community, LaunchSpace is opening a small gallery store in the makerspace to showcase and sell items made by entrepreneur members. The members include Kelly Surprenant of The Rainbow Rack, Lori Chaffee of Best Dressed Cup, Sarah Adams of Sarah Adams Art, Gina Agnelli of Designs by Gina, and Cassandra Houde of First Footsteps.

LaunchSpace maker members will also be able to exhibit their work in the store so the community can see the items that different studios are making. LaunchSpace plans to change its monthly Maker Mixers to quarterly starting this month, with the goal of opening a new studio or upgrading an existing one for each event through the end of the year. This Maker Mixer will also include tours, instructors’ demonstrations, and a “Make & Take” station for visitors to make something quickly that they can take home. Visitors are encouraged to bring a project they want help with or ideas of projects they want feedback on.

The event is open to the public and is for all ages. For more information or with questions, contact LaunchSpace co-founder and CEO Brianna Drohen at brianna@launchspace-orange.com or 978-633-5131.
