PETERSHAM — The Petersham Art Center is offering a full slate of classes this fall that offer artistic adventures full of friendship and fun. The Art Center is a non-profit center for the arts located at 8 North St., just off Route 32.

■“Camera Kids” for ages 8-12 will meet on four Saturday mornings, Sept. 24, Oct. 1, 8, and 15, from 9 to 10 a.m., with instructor Geoff Smith. This class will help kids spark their inner artist and encourage creativity. Each concept will be followed by putting the new ideas into practice. Students bring their own cameras or cell phones.

■“Taking Better Photos,” for teens to adults, with instructor Geoff Smith, will take place on Sunday afternoons on Sept. 25, and on Oct. 2 and 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. The workshop will start with introductory practical lessons, followed with a variety of concepts that allow the participant to choose their own way. Each participant brings their own camera or cell phone.

■“How to Build a Stone Wall,” with instructor Chris Jenkins, is scheduled for Saturday mornings, on Oct. 1 and 15, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for teens to adults. Students will learn how to build a garden retaining wall, from start to finish. Particpants will need a shovel, gloves, and safety glasses.

■“Weaving a Market Basket,” for ages 16 to adult, will be taught by instructor Sue Morello, of Sheldon Farm Baskets. The class will take place on Saturday morning, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon. Students will be guided through all the steps in creating their own market basket, perfect for a trip to the market, or for gathering their own garden harvest.

■“Nature Journaling” with Katrina Walton will gather on Saturday morning, Oct. 22, from 9 to 11 a.m., for teens to adults. This class will be an introduction to journaling, with inspirations from nature. The instructor will provide art supplies and journals.
