MILTON — Curry College congratulates Zackery Aldrich of Royalston, who was named to the Fall 2022 Dean’s List.
Curry College, founded in Boston in 1879, is a private, co-educational, liberal arts-based institution located on 131 acres in Milton, Mass. The college extends its educational programs to a continuing education branch campus in Plymouth.

Boston—Massachusetts Senate Leadership announced committee assignments for the upcoming legislative session. Senator Anne M. Gobi (D-Spencer) is now set to Chair the legislature’s new Committee on Agriculture. She received the following assignments.

Reviewing her committee roles, Gobi said, “I am grateful to have been entrusted with the leadership of a new-to-the-legislature Joint Committee. Agricultural issues are critically important not just for my district but for the Commonwealth as a whole. What happens to livestock and crops, impacts our ability to feed and grow Massachusetts. As vice chair of the Joint Committee on Public Higher Education, I will remain an advocate for our students and their families. It is an honor to serve on committees where I will focus my attention on the needs of our veterans, first responders, small businesses, the legal system, and our budget. Through my committee work, I will be a voice for the Worcester and Hampshire District, and Massachusetts.”
ATHOL—The L.S. Starrett Company, a leading global manufacturer of precision measuring tools and gages, metrology systems and more, has recently appointed Kip Paterson as its new human resources (HR) director. Paterson succeeds longstanding Starrett HR Director Joel Shaughnessy, who recently retired.
“We are very pleased to have Kip join Starrett,” said Emerson Leme, Vice President, Starrett Industrial Products, North America. “He brings extensive experience in Human Resources to our organization, including the ability to implement best practices to help support our employees and the Starrett team.”
Paterson’s HR background spans roles at several companies, where he gained exposure to manufacturing and sales operations. His most recent positions were held at Norton | Saint-Gobain Abrasives (Worcester), Bullard Abrasives (Lincoln, R.I.) and Paradigm Precision (Manchester, Conn.). His core competencies include workforce planning, organizational design, talent development, employee engagement, and knowledge in HR information systems and total rewards and compliances. Paterson holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Management from the University of Maine.
