This year’s Green Clean Athol community cleanup is being dedicated to the memory of Kathy Richards. Event co-organizer Heidie Strickland described Richards as "a nature educator, a passionate advocate for the environment, and a Green Clean Athol volunteer. She was a vital person in our community when it came to the well-being of our environment." Volunteers can gather near the senior center at Lord Pond Plaza to take part in the cleanup effort, which will take place from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday, April 22. Bags and gloves will be made available.
