The "Jokes 4 Jamie" comedy fundraiser is being held on Aug. 9 at the Petersham Town Hall to support Jamie Hatch, a longtime resident battling Stage 4 esophageal cancer. The event will include a cash bar, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing, with proceeds going towards easing the financial and emotional burden on Jamie and his family. Jamie has been an active member of the community, having served as a firefighter and officer with the Petersham Fire Department and Fire Association, among other roles. Tickets are $30 each.
PETERSHAM – The community is coming together Saturday, Aug. 9, for the “Jokes 4 Jamie” comedy fundraiser to support longtime resident Jamie Hatch, who is battling Stage 4 esophageal cancer.
“Jokes for Jamie” will be held at the Petersham Town Hall, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show starting at 7:30 p.m. This 18+ event will include a cash bar, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing. Proceeds will help ease the financial and emotional burden on Jamie and his family.
According to an announcement for the event, Hatch is a devoted husband and father of four children and has been an active member of the community since childhood, giving back in many ways.
Over the years, Hatch has served as a firefighter and officer with the Petersham Fire Department and Fire Association. He has also been past master and secretary of Mt. Zion Lodge of Freemasons.
In addition, Hatch has contributed as president of the youth group of the Petersham Congregational Church and as an employee and manager at the Country Store. He has served as a board member of the Curling Club, coached youth sports, and played as a musician with the original house band for Petersham Jams.
Local businesses are invited to support the event through sponsorships of $100 or more and will receive recognition at the fundraiser. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks. Tickets are $30 each.
