Royalston flu clinic

ROYALSTON—The annual Seasonal Flu Vaccination Clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Town Hall, 13 on The Common. The clinic, sponsored by the Royalston Council on Aging, is free of charge and is open to Royalston residents who are 18 years of age or older. Health insurance is not required; however, please bring an insurance card if possible. Up to date regular and high-dose flu and pneumonia vaccines are available.  Updated Covid-19 vaccine will be available. 

This year’s clinic will be conducted in the Assembly Hall (second floor) at the Town Hall. Participants should enter through the rear door, and review pre-screening sign. If OK, participants will go to second floor by stairs or elevator, then complete consent paperwork. The vaccine will then be administered. Please enjoy a snack or proceed to join a lunch in first floor dining room.

Congregational church’s monthly movie night

PETERSHAM – The Orthodox Congregational Church will show “Belle,” an action-adventure, science fiction/fantasy anime from Studio Chizu on the big projector screen at 21 N. Main St. / Route 32 in Petersham at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. There is no admission fee. Soda and other refreshments will be provided. Comfy cushions and food to share will be welcome.

Annual library book sale

PETERSHAM—The Petersham Memorial Library will be holding its annual book sale on Friday, Oct. 10, and Saturday, Oct. 11. Friday’s book sale will be exclusively for Petersham residents, and will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The book sale for resellers and out-of-town shoppers will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Browse a wide selection of books, records, puzzles, DVDs, games, and more. All proceeds support the library.

South Athol United Methodist Church supper

ATHOL – The South Athol United Methodist Church at 65 Morgan Ave. will host its supper on Saturday, Oct. 18, featuring fork-tender braised beef with gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, coleslaw, green beans, fresh dinner rolls and homemade pies for dessert. All food is prepared and served family-style by experienced kitchen helpers, many of whom are Serve Safe-certified. This will conclude the supper schedule for 2025.

Reservations are required and tickets are $15 each for adults; $6 for children over 12 years; children under 12 years old are free. Meals will be served at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and tickets are available by calling 978-249-9212.

When making reservations, please specify if they are for eat-in or takeout. This will simplify it for servers to accommodate all diners.

Annual Women’s Fellowship Tin Auction

ATHOL – South Athol United Methodist Church at 65 Morgan Ave. is holding its Annual Women’s Fellowship Tin Auction on Friday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Please bring a gift item of a minimum $10 value concealed in a decorative container to be auctioned off. The more attractive the packaging, the higher the bidding can be with all proceeds going to local area charities. There also will be a table of additional items for silent auction bidding. Homemade soups with breads and desserts will be served.

This event is open to the public with no admission charge, so join an evening of fun, food and socializing.
