Heywood and Athol hospitals are experiencing a network outage affecting several systems, and while patient care continues, ambulances are being temporarily diverted, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
The outage was first reported by the health care company late Sunday evening, though only Heywood Hospital was affected. It was later reported that Heywood was fully operational, though some phone issues remained.
Attempts to reach Heywood Healthcare for comment were not immediately successful.
On Tuesday, Heywood Healthcare reported that Heywood and Athol hospitals were managing a “network outage impacting several systems.”
“Our teams are working hard to restore operations quickly,” the company wrote in a statement posted to social media.
As of Wednesday, the health care company reported that patient care continues, and both hospitals remain open for walk-ins, while ambulances are temporarily diverted.
“We appreciate the patience of our community and the commitment of our staff as we focus on patient safety,” stated the company.
