Monday, Jan. 26

11:14 a.m. Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a telephone pole on Main Street. One passenger was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. A citation was issued.

2:37 p.m. A caller reported a gray SUV is parked in front of a house on Cottage Street impeding the plows throughout the storm.

Wednesday, Jan. 28

9:44 a.m. Police were called about a possible three-vehicle crash on Main Street. It was later determined to be two vehicles, one of which was a box truck. Video footage from the Athol High School security cameras showed the pickup truck running the red light and being the vehicle at fault.

11:24 a.m. Police towed a vehicle out of the MART property at 573 South St. for being parked in the employee parking area for several days.

11:48 a.m. A two-vehicle crash on Daniel Shays Highway was reported. Police determined that one vehicle rear-ended the other while it was attempting to take a left-hand turn from Daniel Shays Highway on to Coolidge Parkway. The driver was issued a citation.

Thursday, Jan. 29

10:17 a.m. party into the station with paperwork showing someone passed and left them land. They believe it is a fraud. An officer confirmed the paperwork was a scam.  

10:40 a.m. Caller would like to speak to an officer about someone cutting the catalytic converter off of their vehicle last night.

11:11 a.m. Caller reported an animal bite incident.

12:25 p.m. Police responded to a report of a fight between two students on Pleasant Street.

Sunday, Feb. 1

9:58 a.m. A resident of Silver Lake Street called to report their pipes were frozen. This had happened before, and the Department of Public Works had assisted in the past. The DPW’s Water Department was notified.

12:13 p.m. A vehicle crash on Twichell Street was reported. One vehicle veered off of the roadway to prevent the accident. The second vehicle had pulled into the first vehicle’s lane, causing the accident. The operator was issued a citation for failure to yield.

1:42 p.m. A homeowner on Sanders Street had a water issue in their cellar and had noticed some wires that may have been smoking and cut the power in that area.
