I want to thank reporter Scott Merzbach for his wonderful article in Saturday’s paper [“Paki Wieland: A life in protest and peace“]. Paki Wieland was a fellow resident of mine at the Weldon in Greenfield. Though I had only known Paki for a number of years, I considered her a friend and an absolute asset to our Weldon community. She was well loved and respected here as a revered and fierce advocate for our community. I was blessed to be able to see her shortly before she passed. She attended our weekly coffee hour, was in good spirits, joking and chatting with us in her usual manner. We here at the Weldon will miss her greatly, she will always be in our hearts.
