Regarding the April 1 Recorder article, “Warwick and Shutesbury among latest crop of Climate Leader Communities,” congratulations to leaders in Warwick and Shutesbury for initiatives that have earned both towns Climate Leader status.
Reporter Aalianna Marietta did a great job of explaining the process and the benefits. Basically, it’s a win-win: taking steps to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions while reducing town expenses. Grant money will allow these towns to continue these mitigation efforts.
At a time when federal action is stymied, it’s critical that municipalities and states do what they can.
