Phillip “Ozzie” Osborne

Amherst, MA – Phillip “Ozzie” L. Osborne, born in 1939 in Everett, Massachusetts, was the son of Arthur Sr. and Grace (Kerrigan) Osborne. He passed away on March 8, 2026.

Phillip was an avid outdoorsman who found his greatest joy hunting, fishing, and camping. Many of his fondest memories were made outdoors with his brothers, sharing long days in the woods or on the water. Later in life, he and his beloved wife Mary spent cherished winters in Key West, where they enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and the companionship of their dogs, Lucy, and Daisy,

In his later years, Phillip especially enjoyed spending time at the Amherst American Legion, where he was surrounded by friends, camaraderie, and a strong sense of community that meant a great deal to him.

Phillip proudly served his country for many years. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the Air Force National Guard and also served in the United States Navy and the U.S. Navy Reserves. His military service reflected his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Sr., and Grace Osborne; his brothers Robert, Arthur Jr., Donald, Eugene, and Kenneth; his sister Joyce; and his beloved wife, Mary.

Phillip is survived by his children, daughter Kimberly and sons Loren, Ross, and Matthew, as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who carry forward his legacy of family, service, and love for the outdoors.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and Guppy, a proud serviceman, and a man who felt most at peace in nature, surrounded by those he loved.

A Service will be held at Winchendon Veterans Memorial Cemetery, June 9th at 1 pm
