Now well into my seventies it’s hard for me to understand what has happened to my lifelong friends. Having been brought up as a JFK Democrat so many of us were strong in our beliefs that to me are now being championed by the Republicans. I think the hate for President Donald Trump has skewed their perspective. Examples include a secure border; deportation of undocumented immigrants; supporting the American middle-class and workers; supporting our law enforcement; supporting a strong military and our troops; and the most important is “one nation under God.”
This far-left premise would be unfathomable to our parents: boys in girls bathrooms and sports; rioting and burning to stop law enforcement; allowing our cities to become garbage and crime out of control; rooting for our country to actually fail so they can take over.
I don’t understand why this isn’t outrageous to my lifelong Democratic friends. I guess the hate for President Trump obscures it all. I still believe in the good ol US of A! And I look forward to celebrating our 250th! God bless America and God bless President Trump!
