The New England West Skating Club showed out at the 2026 State Games of America National Figure Skating Competition held at Penn State University from July 28 through Aug. 2.
Anjolina Elias, Mina Chi, Jillian Vonderhorst, Ella Vonderhorst, Camilla Cavaleri and Nina Kratsa all qualified from the games. The skaters participated in 20 events over the course of the competition.

Elias brought home gold medals in the Lyrical Showcase and the Aspire 3 Program. Kratsa also took gold in the Basic 5 Program and a silver in the Basic 5 Elements.
Ella Vonderhorst won silver in the Aspire 2 Program, while sister Jillian Vonderhorst took home another silver for the squad int the Aspire 1 Program. Chi participated in the Basic 4 Elements, the Lyrical Showcase and the Basic 4 Program.
The New England West Skating Club practices at the Deerfield Academy Rink. The organization plans to offer official Learn to Skate classes on Sundays from Sept. 13-Nov. 1. The classes are for ages six through adult.

Women’s League results (August 12) — First Place (gross): Terry Boyce & Corrine Sysun (+2); Second Place: Kathy Felton & Tammy Balestracci (+4); First Place (net): Ananda Larson & Brittany St. Peter (+2); Second Place: Lisa Sullivan & Deb Vandale (+3): Closest to the Pin: Camilla Thatcher on the third (34 feet, eight inches); Terry Boyce on the ninth (11 feet, 11 inches).
Running
Mark Rabasco won the Northfield Summer Road Race on August 20. Rabasco finished the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes 30 seconds. Jed Diogauardi (20:05), Leo McDonald (20:17), Gus Petrovato (20:20) and Emmett Flynn (20:42) rounded out the top five. Marcy Cabanas was the thirst female finisher in seventh place (21:37).
Next week is the last race of the summer, completing the 15th season of the Northfield Summer Road Race Series.
