ROYALSTON — The Royalston Fall Fair will return Saturday for its fourth year, featuring at least 75 vendors along with a variety of activities.
Organized by the Royalston Agricultural Committee, the event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Royalston Common. Agricultural Committee Chair Jennifer Janowicz said this year’s fair will also expand into Bullock Park.
“It’s just a day to celebrate community,” she said. “That’s really all that we wanted to do with it.”
Activities will include live sheep dog demonstrations, an interactive reptile exhibit by Reptile Shows of New England, hayrides and pony rides. A farm animal petting zoo is also planned, as well as live music throughout the day on the common by Ryan Hood Entertainment.
Janowicz said food offerings will include an ice cream truck, baked goods and a barbecue hosted by the Royalston Fire Department. Vendors will also sell arts and crafts, jewelry, plants, books, clothing, Christmas items, and homemade health and beauty products. Raffles are also planned.
Parking for this year’s fair will be marked to help keep visitors safe as people walk throughout the area, Janowicz said. She added that all pets must be leashed due to the other animals at the fair.
Janowicz said 21 vendors participated in last year’s fair.
“It has gotten bigger every year,” she said. “We started with probably a handful of vendors.”
She estimated that about 200 people attended last year, though organizers did not keep an exact count because they do not sell tickets. She said the Royalston Fire Department sold out of food, while other food vendors also used up most of their supplies.
In addition to Janowicz, this year’s fair is being organized by Agricultural Committee Co-Chair Randy Divoll as well as Michelle Divoll, Mikayla Janowicz, Kate Collins and Keith Newton.
Janowicz said organizers started the fair to bring people together for a day of fun.
