While I applaud the mayor and City Council for working with the state to try to get increased aid on the tech school project, it would have been nice if (as in Shelburne and Buckland) they put out a statement before the election!!
We knew this was going to blow a $2 million hole in our budget and that we do not have the additional bonding capacity for it, thereby requiring a Proposition 2½ override/debt exclusion or taking severe cuts to current services.
It’s also pretty pathetic that only 11% of eligible voters in Greenfield bothered to weigh in on such an important matter.
