ATHOL – The Athol-based precision tool manufacturer L.S. Starrett Co. has appointed four new executives, including a new president and CEO.
In an announcement sent on Feb. 21, the company stated that Roger Amrol, Jr. had been appointed to be the new president and CEO. He succeeds Douglas Starrett, whose career with the company spanned 48 years.
According to a statement from Kip Paterson, director human capital, North America, “Roger N. Amrol, Jr., has replaced Doug Starett as president and CEO of L.S. Starrett Co., and we are thrilled to welcome a new leader to guide our future while maintaining the strong legacy of L.S. Starrett. Doug Starrett is no longer involved with the company. We are grateful for his many years of dedicated service and leadership and wish him all the best in his next endeavor.”
Prior to Starrett, Amrol worked for Robert Bosch Tool Corporation North America for 12 years, five of which as president and CEO.
Last March, it was announced that L.S. Starrett would transition from a public to a private company and merge with MiddleGround Capital, a private equity firm.
In an interview last March, Douglas Starrett said that the deal came about because as a public company, L.S. Starrett has to incur significant costs related to Securities and Exchange Commission filings and audits, among others. All told, he said this amounts to approximately $3 million annually.
In addition to a new president, the company has also created three new positions—global chief information officer (CIO), chief revenue officer and chief operating officer (COO). Appointed to these positions are Allen Look, Jon-Michael Raymond and Barry Laughlin, respectively.
Laughlin was most recently the COO for Group DEKKO for nine years. Look has also held held global CIO roles for six years at privately and publicly-held companies including FBG and Hayward Holdings, Inc. Raymond has held sales and finance roles for over 17 years, most recently as global sales and marketing senior vice president at FyterTech Nonwovens.
